As part of the 14th EASN International Conference in Thessaloniki this year, we were delighted to introduce a novel format aimed at fostering deeper discussions on pressing topics in the aviation sector. The evaluation process followed a peer-review methodology, ensuring a fair and thorough assessment by fellow experts.

EASN BoD Position Paper on the significance of ACARE

The challenging objective of the European Green Deal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 requires a coordinated involvement and cooperation of all stakeholders in the air transport system. The Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research and Innovation in Europe (ACARE) contributes to this objective by assembling all these stakeholders, providing an open forum for discussion and developing a common vision for aviation, such as the recently published “Fly the Green Deal – Europe’s Vision for Sustainable Aviation”.

EASN position paper on FP10

The EASN Association has released a position paper with the aim to contribute to the open discussion concerning the Framework Programme 10. This position paper underlines the need for a sufficiently funded Aviation programme therein, addressing all significant challenges for the Aviation sector and being a suitable frame for both, integration and demonstration of innovation in the near and short term as well as exploration and maturation of breakthrough technologies to feed the pipeline of innovation and ensure Impact also beyond 2035.

EASN Stakeholders Advisory Board (SAB) Meeting

On October 7th, 2024, the EASN Stakeholders Advisory Board (SAB) convened for a key meeting that included important decisions regarding leadership and the future of the Board. After a unanimous proposal from the EASN Board of Directors, EASN Chairman Andreas Strohmayer formally requested the 3-year term renewal of the SAB, which is composed of distinguished industry and academic experts from the aerospace community.

TUD Dresden University of Technology Strengthens Infrastructure for Climate-Neutral Aviation Research

In March 2026, the Dresden University of Technology will place a new flying test bed for climate-friendly propulsion into operation. The Diamond DA62 MPP (Multi-Purpose Platform) enables in-flight validation of combustion, fuel cell, and electric propulsion systems under realistic boundary conditions.
