On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the European Commission and SPACE AISBL for the co-programmed European Partnership for Globally Competitive Space Systems (“Space Partnership”) in the context of Horizon Europe, an important effort is in progress for upgrading and restructuring the space pillar within the EASN Association.
In this context, a formal gathering of the Interest Group (IG) on “Space Technologies and Applications” took place aside from the 14th EASN International Conference in Thessaloniki, resulting in the election of a new coordination team. Prof. Ernesto Limiti (University of Roma “Tor Vergata”) and Prof. Nikos Michailidis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) take the lead of the group as coordinator and deputy coordinator, respectively.
The elaboration of a thematic structure is now in its final stage. Based on this structure, EASN is ready to respond to the requests that arise from its participation in the SPACE AISBL (i.e., Space Partnership), as well as to the wider activities within the European space research ecosystem (EC Consultation Platform, ESA activities, etc.).
For those interested to join the EASN Space group, please directly get in contact with the coordination team (Prof. Ernesto Limiti and Prof. Nikolaos Michailidis) and Dr. Apostolos Chamos.
