Aviation Research Ecosystem Advanced Novel Approach

In the Solution Development Phase, the AREANA project is working on the design of the various solution options that have been selected for the successful optimization of research cooperation in the field of European aviation research. In accordance with the guidelines of the AREANA project, this is done in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders. The main solution ideas were presented and discussed at the 14th EASN Conference.

In a second round on December 12th in Brussels, the feedback received so far and the further developments based on it will be discussed at a dedicated workshop with the research community. A particular focus will be on a process for coordinating the various European, national, and regional research strategies, the various possibilities for closer international research cooperation and the efficient integration of the IT platform developed by the ECARE project into those tasks.

The aim is to develop an overall concept in which a research strategy coordinated between the European Union and the national states can be optimally implemented through flexible cooperation options. This is intended to make a significant contribution to reducing the climate impact of aviation but also to maintaining the competitiveness of the European aviation industry.

As a next step, based on the results of the workshop, the individual working groups of the project will consider suitable ways to successfully implement the revised solutions, taking into account the comments received during the workshop. These implementation proposals will then be presented at the AERODAYS25 in May in Warsaw.
