CLAIM (Clean Aviation Support for Impact Monitoring) is an ambitious initiative inaugurated in January 2024, funded by the EU under the Clean Aviation programme. The project is dedicated to advancing the understanding of aviation's impact on climate change, focusing on both CO2 and non-CO2 emissions. It’s high-level objectives include the development of tangible metrics for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the compilation of an inventory of cutting-edge aeronautical research and technologies.
Kick-off event & Workshop on Candidate Metrics
CLAIM kicked off in a 2-day meeting, hosted at the esteemed DLR-Institute of System Architectures in Aeronautics facilities in Hamburg, Germany, on the 20th and 21st of February, with the participation of all project partners and executives from Clean Aviation.
One of the highlights was the first consortium internal workshop, including CAJU and the cooperation board on Candidate Climate Metrics. Further workshops on this and other topics related to aviation's Climate and Technology Impact Assessment are to follow and consider a broader expert community from outside the CLAIM consortium.
