exFan at Clean Aviation “Pitch & Connect”
In February 2026, exFan participated in the Clean Aviation Pitch & Connect Networking Event in Brussels, Belgium. The project presented its work on thermal management and waste-heat recovery solutions for hydrogen fuel-cell powered aircraft propulsion systems.
exFan at Aviation Forum Austria 2026
exFan was featured at Aviation Forum Austria 2026 in Vienna, where Advanced Drivetrain Technologies GmbH (ADT), the project’s technical coordinator, participated in discussions on disruptive aviation technologies and future propulsion systems. The project was also presented at an exhibition stand, allowing participants to learn more about exFan’s objectives and ongoing developments.

Public Engagement at the Long Night of Research 2026
The exFan project participated in Austria’s Long Night of Research 2026 at TU Wien, where visitors explored the project demonstrator and interactive experiments related to heat transfer and thermal management technologies. The event attracted strong public interest and provided an opportunity to promote sustainable aviation research to a wider audience.
exFan at SMT Conference 2026
In April, the exFan project was represented at the Surface Modification Technologies (SMT) Conference in Charleroi, Belgium. The event gathered experts from academia and industry to discuss the latest developments in surface treatment technologies. CIDETEC presented exFan's recent results on surface treatments for additively manufactured heat exchangers, showcasing advances that contribute to improved performance and reliability.
