The CONCERTO project is exploring novel certification methods and means of compliance for disruptive technologies. The project aims to develop a comprehensive set of regulations on certification, together with a preliminary description of Methods of Compliance (MoCs) applicable to the three "thrusts" of Clean Aviation (Hybrid electric regional aircraft, Ultra-efficient short and short- medium-range aircraft, Disruptive technologies to enable hydrogen-powered aircraft). It will also assess the feasibility of a digital certification framework to support collaboration and model-based certification, while developing the novel Certification Readiness Level (CRL) scale to serve as a common certification framework, in close collaboration with the EASA.
Conferences and Workshops
Before the 2024 ended up, CONCERTO Project delivered an insightful presentation during the "EASA Certification Roadmap on Hydrogen (H2) - International Workshop", hosted at EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) in Cologne, Germany, surrounded by a high-qualified audience, including representatives from EASA, FAA, UK CAA, and numerous national civil aviation authorities. The main objective of this presentation was to share the results of CONCERTO’s PoC H2 and ongoing actions that can serve the EASA and the overall hydrogen aviation community in paving the way for hydrogen aircraft certification.

Internal Collaboration
A CONCERTO partner - AMADE of Universitat de Girona - traveled to the Netherlands to visit Airbus Defence & Space. During this collaborative effort, our team members discussed the Porto-Girona 3D Constitutive Damage Model (PG-PDM3D) and its capabilities, which will be implemented at Airbus Defence and Space to simulate their use case.

Non-Scientific publication
Our efforts go beyond conference participation. We continuously seek opportunities to expand our impact and visibility. Aviation Week Magazine, a member of the Aviation Week Network, highlights the CONCERTO Project and the CRL scale as part of Clean Aviation’s commitment to driving a greener future for aviation.
Upcoming Activities
The CONCERTO Project is getting ready to take an active role at the Clean Aviation Annual Forum 2025 and engage with the leading experts in European aviation. During our presentation, our team will showcase the Experimental Validation Aircraft demonstrator and provide insights on the newly introduced CRL Scale, a key framework for assessing the certificability of innovative aerospace technologies.
Last but not least, the CONCERTO Project could not, of course, be absent from the Paris Air Show! Our presence there will be strong and dynamic, showcasing our achievements and innovations. Stay tuned!
