Next-Generation Military Integrated Modular Avionics

The NG-MIMA project continues to advance cutting-edge solutions for real-time, mission-critical embedded systems. During the T33 workshop, the team developed the functional architecture for SCD Graphics Processing, established a shared understanding of required functions, and defined incoming requirements from WP2. This foundational work triggered several follow-up activities, laying the groundwork for future hardware and software architectures.

At the WP4 Task 46 workshop hosted by GMV, partners focused on mission-critical execution challenges in modern MPSoC platforms, discussing execution time determinism, variability, optimal Quality of Service configurations, and validation strategies using Hardware Event Monitors. These exchanges strengthened alignment across WP4 activities, enhancing predictability, performance, and reliability.

EDF also showcased its contributions at the ERTS conference, highlighting its work on software timing validation and verification for embedded MPSoC systems, demonstrating how the project is advancing reliable solutions for complex real-time applications.

In parallel, NG-MIMA has launched a series of interactive polls to engage the community, exchange perspectives, and explore priorities shaping the future of avionics. Early feedback, such as from the first poll on design challenges, is helping guide the project’s strategic focus and collaborative vision.
