European Recycling and Circularity of Large Composite Structures: Latest Updates from EuReComp
The EuReComp project continues to advance the circularity of high-performance composites across Europe, delivering new research, demonstrators, events, and outreach activities throughout 2024–2025. With major milestones achieved and new activities on the horizon, the project is steadily pushing the boundaries of sustainable composite reuse, recycling, and repurposing for aerospace, wind energy, automotive, and emerging sectors.
Showcasing Innovation Across Europe
ROCCA Cabin Demonstrator Highlighted Internationally
EuReComp’s achievements were recently featured in CompositesWorld, spotlighting the ROCCA cabin demonstrator, an integrated showcase of recycling, refurbishment, and reuse pathways for aerospace composite components. The demonstrator illustrates how large composite structures can be effectively recovered, re-engineered, and reintegrated into new applications.

Interactive Knowledge Tools for Circularity
To support industry and research communities, EuReComp launched its Interactive Glossary (A–Z) — a comprehensive digital tool explaining key terminology in composite circularity, recycling technologies, materials, and sustainability frameworks. This resource continues to be expanded and refined as the project progresses.
Engagement at Major International Events
EuReComp at K-Messe 2025, Düsseldorf
The project was also featured at K-Messe 2025, one of the largest global gatherings for plastics and advanced materials. EuReComp partners presented advancements in chemical recycling, repurposing strategies, and testing methodologies for end-of-life composite structures.

ICCM24: Circularity in Focus
At ICCM24, EuReComp researchers shared updates on repurposing and recycling approaches, with discussions on solvolysis techniques, material recovery, surface treatment of reclaimed fibres, and demonstrator-scale implementation.

Strengthening Knowledge Through Webinars & Publications
7th & 8th EuReComp Webinars
Two major webinars were delivered:
- 7th Webinar: Atomistic Modelling in Polymer Composites, now available as a recorded session, explored simulation-based tools that support safe and sustainable material design.
- 8th Webinar: Repurposing End-of-Life Wind Turbine Blades offered insights into structural, mechanical, and lifecycle considerations, featuring cross-sectoral approaches for reuse.
New Scientific Publications
Recent publications include:
Consortium Activities and Progress
M42 Progress Meeting in Lagos, Portugal
Partners gathered in Lagos for the 42-month progress meeting, reviewing demonstrator advancements, LCA/LCC outcomes, recycling tests, and upcoming validation campaigns across industrial sites.
Growing Community Engagement
With more audiences joining our activities, EuReComp continues to expand its outreach:
- More LinkedIn polls to engage the community on recycling challenges and future-use scenarios.
- More Team Spotlights, presenting the experts behind EuReComp’s research, methodologies, and demonstrator development.
Τhe 6th Newsletter – Read & Listen!
Recently the publication of the 6th EuReComp Newsletter took place, covering the project's activities and achievements during the second semester of 2025. For this edition, we have created an Audio Brief—a podcast-style summary of the newsletter's key takeaways.
Looking Ahead: Final Phase of EuReComp
4th & Final Workshop – March 2026 in Parma, Italy
The project will conclude its workshop series with the 4th EuReComp Workshop in Parma, hosted in March 2026. This final event will consolidate project results, demonstrate circularity pathways, and bring together industry, policymakers, and academia.
Details on registration, agenda, and speakers will be released on the EuReComp website.

Conclusion
With expanding demonstrators, new research publications, increased knowledge-sharing activities, and continuous collaboration across Europe, EuReComp is making significant contributions to the future of composite circularity. As the project enters its final phase, stakeholders are invited to follow upcoming events, webinars, and outreach actions through the project website and social channels.
