Key developments and milestones have been achieved so far after the HERFUSE project closed its first year full of commitment and hard work. During this first year, we worked closely with the Clean Aviation HERA and HERWINGT projects to align with the broader Ultra-Efficient Regional Aircraft (UERA) vision, ensuring that structural innovations contribute meaningfully to Clean Aviation’s 2035 entry-into-service targets for hybrid-electric regional aircraft. Significant progress has also been made in structural design, material innovation, and manufacturing techniques. Additionally, the HERFUSE team defined a test plan at both the coupon and subcomponent levels while focusing on integrating batteries into the fuselage.
Our partner, MARE Group, hosted the SYPLA® AEROSPACE workshop, which focused on an advanced anomaly detection and maintenance management system. The event attracted over 50 participants, marking a significant milestone. HERFUSE also had the honor of being showcased at the prestigious AIAA SciTech Forum 2025. Our coordinator delivered a presentation at the Clean Aviation Special Session, outlining the HERFUSE project’s scope and objectives.

Finally, the inaugural HERFUSE newsletter has been released, revealing our initial milestones and the rest of our ambitious path in more detail.
Join our social media community on LinkedIn, YouTube, and HERFUSE official website, learn more about the project’s scope and progress, and be part of the journey as we pave the way for hybrid electric regional flies.
